Maruti Ciaz RS launched at INR 9.20 lakhs - IAB Report

Maruti Suzuki launched the Maruti Ciaz RS today which is priced from INR 9.20 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in the range topping trims of both petrol and diesel variants.

The Maruti Ciaz RS gets nothing more than bumper extensions, side skirts and a boot-lid mounted spoiler.

The sportier version of the Ciaz gets cosmetic add-ons such as a front spoiler (front bumper lip), side skirts and a boot-lid mounted spoiler. These additions are said by the company to be improving the aerodynamics of the car.

The cabin of the Ciaz RS gets a new black theme replacing the beige-mixed pattern, with the instrument cluster being treated in a brushed silver finish. There is no other change in the RS version compared to the standard Z+ variants. The dashboard trims and features list remain intact, which include the dual front airbags and ABS.

The features list and powertrains of the Maruti Ciaz RS are not revised. They follow the specifications of the Z+ trims.

The Maruti Ciaz RS is powered by the same petrol and diesel engines powering the standard versions. The former is a 1.4-litre unit that produces 95 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel model gets the 1.3-litre unit with the SHVS hybrid technology. It churns out 90 PS at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

No change in the fuel efficiency is reported. The Ciaz petrol returns an ARAI certified mileage of 20.73 km/l with the manual gearbox, while the diesel variant with SHVS delivers 28.03 km/l.
