Maruti's NEXA dealership network has dropped the first teaser of the upcoming Maruti Baleno hatchback, which will launch in the country on October 26, reportedly. Dealerships have already begun accepting pre-orders for Maruti's premium hatchback for a minimum amount of INR 25,000, and will be available in four variants.
The Maruti Baleno is rumored to measure of 3,995 mm long, 1,500 mm tall, 1,745 mm wide and 2,520 mm in wheelbase. The ground clearance is set at 180 mm, and comes with 16-inch alloy wheels in top-end trims. A total of seven colors will be offered on the premium hatchback, one of which is a dark blue shade revealed by the teaser.
As per a new report, under the hood, the Baleno will feature a 1.2-liter K12 four-cylinder petrol engine with VVT or a 1.3-liter DDiS 200 diesel engine. The 1.2-liter VVT petrol engine develops 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, whereas the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel develops 75 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. While a 5-speed manual will be standard on both, the petrol variant will get an option of a CVT gearbox in the ‘Delta’ variant.
The Baleno will come with ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard across all four variants. The top-end Alpha variant will feature projector headlights, reverse camera and Maruti’s SmartPlay infotainment touchscreen system with on-board navigation.
