Bookings underway at NEXA outlets.

The Baleno is reported to launch in India on October 26, ahead of which Maruti's NEXA outlets have already started accepting bookings for the hatchback. The booking amount is INR 25,000.
The Baleno for the Indian market will be powered by a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine. The petrol is reported to develop 84 PS and 115 Nm of torque, whereas the diesel would produce 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. While both engines will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol will also be available with a CVT.
According to a report, dual front airbags, ABS and EBD will be standard across the range, which encompasses four variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Buyers on the lookout for high-end features like projector headlights, reverse parking camera and Maruti's touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system will have to opt for the top-end Alpha variant.

Maruti will introduce 7 colors on the Baleno, which rivals the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the VW Polo.
