Confirmed for an Indian launch next year.

Honda is presenting the Honda BR-V to journalists at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Japan today. Ahead of the vehicle showcase, here are the presentation slides that detail the highlights of the BR-V.

The BR-V rides on the Honda Brio/Amaze platform.

Honda says the exterior of the BR-V adopts an 'Active Solid Motion' design for 'tough and premium' feel. The car maker confirmed that the BR-V rides on 195/60 16-inch alloy wheels with a diamond finish. The overall length of the BR-V is rated at 4,456 mm, the overall height at 1,666 mm and ground clearance at 201 mm.

Honda has only spoken about the petrol variant of the BR-V, though for India, a diesel variant will be seen alongside, officials of Honda Cars India confirmed to Indian Autos Blog. The petrol engine (for international and Indian market) will be the 1.5-liter i-VTEC unit borrowed from the City. For markets like Indonesia, this engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 'newly-developed' CVT, which Honda says promises expanded ratio range, reduced friction and reduced frame weight.

Honda has opted for the three-row 7-seat configuration for the BR-V.

The 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine, which itself gets friction reducing features like CCS (Cooling control spacer) and Zig-zag pattern coating on pistons, develops 118 hp at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm.

The BR-V, as reported earlier, will launch in India next year with petrol and diesel engines.
