2016 Toyota Avanza spotted in Malaysia ahead of launch, prices leaked – Report

Prices start at RM69,072 (INR 10.32 lakhs).

The 2016 Toyota Avanza (facelift) has been spotted at the Low Yat Plaza in Malaysia before its launch in the country. In addition, the price list and specification sheet of the car has been leaked.

The Toyota Avanza facelift will be offered in four variants in Malaysia, with two engines and transmissions.

The Avanza facelift will be offered in four variants – base variant with 1.3L engine and manual gearbox (1.3 E M/T), base version with 1.5L engine and automatic transmission (1.5 E A/T), mid-variant with automatic (1.5 G A/T) and top-end with automatic (1.5 S A/T).

Avanza 1.3 E M/T – RM69,072 (INR 10.32 lakhs)
Avanza 1.5 E A/T – RM75,787 (INR 11.32 lakhs)
Avanza 1.5 G A/T – RM78,477 (INR 11.73 lakhs)
Avanza 1.5 S A/T – RM80,810 (INR 12.08 lakhs)

Compared to the outgoing model’s prices, the 2016 Avanza is dearer by RM2,000 – RM3,000 (approximately INR 30,000 – INR 45,000).

The new Avanza will be pricier than the outgoing model by RM2,000 – RM3,000.

First launched in Indonesia (in August 2015) ahead of its motor show premiere at the 2015 Indonesia International Motor Show, the Avanza facelift gets two exterior designs (front and rear fascias). The first three variants have similar styling, but the range-topping variant is spruced up with Avanza Veloz-inspired mesh grille and tail lights. As per the brochure, the top-end S variant gets side skirts too.
