The incoming 2016 Audi Q5 would be up to 100 kg lighter and offer the latest MMI system and the Virtual Cockpit.

From what we observe, the face gets a more aggressive grille as seen on the new Q7. It will also have large air intakes and LED Matrix headlamps.

The new Q5 will be based on the company’s MLB platform that is made from a mixture of aluminium and high-strength steel, and this will reportedly result in more than 100 kg reduction in overall weight. The interior, adhering to the new design, will have a simple, flowing layout that mirrors the one found in the new Q7 and A4. Audi’s latest MMI infotainment system will come as standard while Virtual Cockpit system with full-screen navigation is expected to be optional.
