Toyota C-HR Concept (second version) unveiled - 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show Live

Previews a future crossover to rival the Nissan Qashqai.

Toyota has unveiled the second version of the Toyota C-HR concept at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt. The new concept features more production-spec elements and two extra doors, compared to the first C-HR concept unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

While the exterior design looks largely similar to first model, it features new headlamps, new LED accents on the lower bumper, a silver metallic finish, large 5-spoke alloy wheels, larger ORVMs, updated taillamps.

For improved practicality, Toyota has equipped the C-HR Concept with two extra doors for rear occupants, although it does seem that the greenhouse for them is small. It's quite likely that the production-spec model will feature a more-conventional styling with a larger greenhouse.

The Toyota C-HR Concept is based on Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA), which is their attempt at a global modular platform. As for powertrain details, Toyota still hasn't released them yet, although the claim that the engine will have a thermal efficiency of over 40 percent, as well as increased fuel efficiency by making the hybrid system including the motor and battery smaller and more lightweight.
