Maruti Baleno spied testing in Gurgaon - Video

Launch likely to take place by end of October.

The Maruti Baleno is expected to launch in India by the end of October. The premium hatchback was recently unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was spotted in Gurgaon by YouTube user Auto Speed.

The Baleno will be positioned above the Swift in the company's lineup.

The Baleno is based on a new-generation platform that is claimed to offer better handling and increased efficiency. It will be positioned above the Swift and have dimensions of 3,995 mm x 1,745 mm x 1,470 mm (1,460 mm with SHVS) in length, width and height respectively with a boot capacity of 355 liters.

The cabin will receive Maruti’s SmartPlay infotainment system with integrated Bluetooth and navigation, automatic climate control and a multi-function steering wheel with controls for audio and telephony functions.

The engines powering the Baleno will be a 1.0-liter Boosterjet petrol and a 1.2-liter Dualjet petrol with optional SHVS technology, for the European market. For India though, the Baleno will continue using the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol and the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine.

The Baleno will be sold exclusively through the Nexa chain of premium outlets.
