Overall length of the Megane will be kept under 4.5 m according to the report.

The 2016 Megane hatchback is announced to be 25 mm lower and 28 mm longer in wheelbase over its predecessor, and these dimensions are expected to be carried on to the estate as well. However, the report mentions that the overall length of the estate will not exceed 4.5 meters, making it a tad shorter than the 4.562 meter VW Golf Estate. Other competitors for the Megane Estate include the Peugeot 308 SW and the Citroen C4 Tourer.

Coming to the engines, Renault is yet to reveal the powertrain of the Megane hatchback, as a result, details of the estate are purely speculative as of now. However, the report adds that the diesel engine range will be borrowed from the Renault Kadjar, which uses 1.5- and 1.6-liter four-cylinder dCi engines developing 110 hp and 130 hp respectively. These engines would be paired to 6-speed manual and 7-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) transmissions.
