The 2016 BMW 7 Series has been spotted in India again by a Motoroids reader, days ahead of its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. Its Indian premiere will take place at the 2016 Auto Expo to be held in February in Greater Noida.

The test mule was spotted by a Motoroids reader atop a flat-bed truck and in heavy camouflage.

The luxury sedan is codenamed G11 for the standard and G12 for the long wheelbase version. The G12 is likely to be the only option for Indian customers when the 7 Series is launched in the country.

The new luxo barge is made from an aluminium-intensive chassis with a passenger cell made from CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic), the result is a car which is 130 kg lighter than its predecessor. The interior has a lounge-like feel and comes with a vast array of equipment that focus on comfort and luxury such as massage function, panoramic glass roof, welcome light carpet, ambient lighting, inductive charging for smartphones, iDrive infotainment system with touch and gesture control.

Safety features abound such as crossing traffic warning, steering and lane control assistant, active side collision protection, surround 3D view and the Remote Control Parking System that lets the car park itself in tight spaces; among many others. It is unclear as to how many of these features will actually make it to the Indian version.

In India, the new 7 Series will only be available in petrol and diesel versions, the latter getting the first preference. The petrol (750Li) is powered by a 4.4-liter, TwinPower turbo V8 producing 450 PS while the diesel (750Ld) will derive power from a new 3.0-liter inline-six engine generating 265 PS. Both engines will feed power through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
