Nissan Sway-inspired 2017 Nissan Micra – Rendering

Will be manufactured at Renault’s Flins plant.

A new render of the fifth generation 2017 Nissan Micra has surfaced online, courtesy of Auto Pista, which is based on the design of the Nissan Sway Concept from the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The Nissan Micra in the rendering sports the characteristic Nissan V-shaped grille flanked by sleek headlamps, an aggressive front bumper and sculpted front hood.

To be based on the modular CMF platform, the international-spec Nissan Micra will be manufactured at Renault’s Flins plant in France, instead of the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai, India. This change of production plant is attributed to its new platform and improving the build quality of the next generation model.

Talking about the exterior, the front fascia sports the characteristic Nissan V-shaped grille flanked by sleek headlamps, an aggressive front bumper and sculpted front hood. It bears close similarity to the Nissan Pulsar with its cab-forward stance.

Towards the rear, it could adopt the floating roof design seen in the concept, and feature C-shape taillight enclosures. The concept measured 4,010 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, 1,385 mm in height and 2,570 mm in wheelbase.

As for the Indian market, a successor to the current Nissan Micra is reportedly planned, but it will be based on a re-engineered version of the existing Nissan V-Platform. It’s unclear if it will look anything like the Nissan Sway concept.
