Will be launched next year.

German magazine Autobild have rendered their version of Volvo’s upcoming flagship sedan, the Volvo S90. The car will be based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) featuring the company’s new design philosophy that was seen on the new XC90 SUV and the Volvo Concept Estate that debuted at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and probably be unveiled at either in Detroit (January 2016) or in Geneva (March 2016).

The fascia seen in the render is lifted from the concept with its long vertically-set chrome grille with the Volvo Iron Mark, LED headlamps with the signature “Thor’s Hammer” T-Shaped DRLs and a smooth, sculpted bodywork, and while not pictured, LED “tattoo” taillamp. The dimensions will likely be more than the S80 sedan for a roomier cabin and larger boot.

Interiors will be an evolution of the XC90, featuring a simple and clean layout. There will be less buttons to be seen with most of the functions controlled by the Sensus Connected Touch infotainment system.
