2015 Mahindra XUV500 (facelift) launched in Nepal - Report

Priced between NPR 49,50,000 to NPR 69,95,000.

Following the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar in the Nepalese market on August 1, another Indian product has arrived in the form of Mahindra’s Cheetah-inspired SUV – the 2015 Mahindra XUV500.

The exterior is identical to the Indian variant. It gets the static bending projector headlamps with LED guide lights, six-toothed grille with chrome inserts, chrome surrounds for the fog lamps, flared wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome window lining and a chrome applique on the tail gate.

Inside, there is a dual-tone dashboard with twin pods for the instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Features such as LED scuff plates, Icy Blue lounge lighting, electric sunroof and ORVMs, automatic climate control, push button stop/start and leather seats add comfort and give a premium feel to the cabin. There is plenty of storage space on offer as well, including the 702 liters of boot space which can be increased to a cavernous 1512 liters with the second and third row seats folded.

The facelifted XUV500 is powered by a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged engine delivering 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque through a 6-speed manual gearbox. Stopping power comes from disc brakes supplemented by ABS with EBD at all four wheels.

The new XUV500 is not short on safety and offers six airbags, hill hold and hill descent control, side impact beams and crash protection crumple zones.

The vehicle has been launched in Nepal by M&M’s authorized dealer Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd. and will be available in five trim levels: W4, W6, W8, W8 AWD and W10 AWD. The range starts from NPR 49,50,000 – 61,35,000 for the FWD versions and goes all the way to NPR 69,95,000 for the W10 AWD.
