Expected to get the same 6-speed unit found in the Tivoli.

According to a report on MotorBeam, Mahindra has applied for registration of the Scorpio automatic with the RTO, and the following document also states that it will be available in both 2WD and 4WD options.

New Mahindra Scorpio AT 4WD S10
The Scorpio AT will continue with the 2.2-liter engine.

Though the new Scorpio was launched in September last year, an automatic transmission which was available on the previous model, was discontinued. Speaking to IndianAutosBlog, Mr. Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra and Mahindra, said that the Scorpio AT could be relaunched if demand existed. However, the official ruled out an AMT system for the SUV.

The new Scorpio AT is likely to make use of a 6-speed Aisin-made torque-converter automatic transmission, which is also seen on the Ssangyong Tivoli compact SUV. According to the report, the Scorpio AT will come in three variants - S6+, S8 and S10.

The Scorpio AT will continue to be powered by the 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine which produces 120 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Save for a subtle 'Automatic' badge on the rear door, the exteriors of the Scorpio AT would see no drastic changes.
