Set to be the first SUV for the brand in its 80-year history, the F-Pace would draw styling cues from the Jaguar C-X17 concept, which made its premiere at the 2013 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on the new iQ aluminium-intensive platform, the F-Pace is expected to measure about 400 mm longer in length than the Evoque, at about 4.72 meters.

Upon launch, the F-Pace will be powered by the new Ingenium range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, matched possibly to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Jaguar will also offer its 3.0-liter V6 supercharged petrol engine (which on the F-Type produces 340 PS or 380 PS), while the 3.0-liter V6 diesel could be a likely contender as well.

Jaguar has confirmed an “advanced suspension system” and an All-Surface Progress Control for the F-Type, though further details remain under wraps.

The F-Pace will launch in Europe towards the first half of 2016, and an Indian debut can be expected towards the end of that year. The Porsche Macan and the BMW X4 are primary rivals to the F-Pace.
