Audi Q3 facelift launched in South Africa, Indian launch weeks away - IAB Report

The Audi Q3 facelift was launched in South Africa earlier this week with 1.4- and 2.0-liter petrol engines and a 2.0-liter diesel engine. The facelifted Q3 is weeks away from an Indian launch with pre-launch media drives slated to take place next week. A market launch usually follows the media drive within a month's time.

Audi's entry-level SUV is the only model in its segment to come with 4WD in the Indian market.

In South Africa, the Q3 facelift is priced from 402,500 Rand to 515,000 Rand (INR 20.9 lakhs to INR 26.74 lakhs). In August, the sportier RSQ3 will be launched in the South African market at 769,500 Rand (INR 39.95 lakhs).

Cosmetic changes on the Q3 facelift are focussed on the front fascia which is given a new Singleframe grille, a redesigned bumper and headlight clusters with optional fitment of LED headlights with dynamic turn indicators. Inside, the Q3 facelift sees no changes, save for optional equipment like a power tailgate and a luggage compartment pack.

Audi India will sell the Q3 facelift with a 7-speed auto or a 6-speed manual.

For the Indian market, Audi will continue offering the Q3 facelift with the 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine capable of 177 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Paired to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox, the Q3 sends its power to all wheels using the Quattro all-wheel drive system. Additionally, Audi may also offer the cut-price Q3 S which sports a front wheel drive layout and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Q3 facelift will continue to be assembled at Audi India's Aurangabad facility. Audi's Martorell plant in Spain supplies CKD kits.
