2015 Mahindra XUV500 (facelift) to launch on May 25 - Report

First major update for the XUV500 since its launch in 2011.

According to a report on NDTV, the 2015 Mahindra XUV500 (facelift) will have its market introduction on May 25, 2015.

The bulk of changes are focussed on the front fascia of the SUV.

Spyshots have already revealed the XUV500 facelift with a new front fascia. A redesigned headlight cluster with S-shaped LED daytime running lights, a chrome-lined grille, new foglight enclosures with chrome highlights and a new front bumper are part of the design changes Mahindra have made to the front of the SUV.

A new 'Purple' shade, redesigned 10-spoke alloy wheels, and a larger chrome garnished rear registration plate enclosure are other changes seen on the 2015 XUV500. Inside, the overall design of the dashboard seems identical to the current model, but the color theme has been revised for a premium look.

The XUV500 facelift will continue to be powered by the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which makes 120 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, and comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox with 2WD and 4WD. However, Mahindra is working on introducing an automatic transmission for the XUV500.

This will be the first major cosmetic update for the XUV500 since its launch in September 2011. A successful model for Mahindra, the XUV500 averages monthly sales of 2,750 units (calculated over the past 6 months).
