The new Figo twins will be the first couple of models to be made at the new Sanand plant.

Like its compact sedan sibling, the hatchback too will be powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine and a 1.5-liter Duratorq diesel engine. Both engines will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Ford plans on offering its 1.5-liter petrol engine with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission on the Figo Aspire, but it remains to be seen if the same holds good for the hatchback.

The Figo hatchback will be the second car to be produced at Ford India's new Sanand plant in Gujarat. Apart from catering to the domestic market, Ford India also plans on exporting the Figo to overseas markets, Africa being one of them.
