ABS will not be offered even as an option.

Post the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, the focus has now shifted to the smaller 150 cc adventure-tourer, the Pulsar 150AS.

The 150AS is reported to be based on a new perimeter frame.

Where the RS200 was based on the 200NS's platform, reports suggest that the 150AS will make use of an all-new perimeter frame; Bajaj will simply not build a top-hat on the Pulsar 150. A carburetor-fed single-cylinder four-stroke 150 cc engine paired to a 5-speed box is expected, but whether this unit makes more power and torque over the Pulsar 150 remains to be seen.

As these spyshots show, the Pulsar 150AS gets a well integrated quarter fairing, a suitably noticeable visor and a projector headlight unit. The quarter fairing adds sizable presence to the motorcycle, and in some angles, the 150AS could be mistaken for the larger (and upcoming) 200AS.

Features like projector headlights, alloy wheels and illuminated switches will find their way on the 150AS.

The Pulsar 150AS will be given a petal-type disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. ABS will not be offered even as an option.

Reports suggest that the launch of the 150AS is just weeks away, as the prototype is in a production-ready stage. Post the launch of the 150AS, the regular Pulsar 150 would be upgraded to the perimeter-frame setup, certain reports say.
