A hybrid version is also expected to join the line-up.

Seen below is the video Toyota played at their press conference at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The video demonstrates Toyota's move to offer increased safety and assistance systems on its cars. However, the animated Corolla sedan used for demo purposes features a different front end, leading us and several other publications to believe that this could be the facelift for the ASEAN and Euro-spec Corolla.

What lends further credence is that a source told Indian Autos Blog last year that the company had finalized a facelift for the Corolla, even prior to the introduction of the current generation model in all major markets. Toyota is keen to shed the notion that it is not quick enough as its competitors in introducing updates.

Further, last month, an image of what was reported to be the Corolla Hybrid emerged in China, showing a new front end, similar to the animated Corolla. If this is indeed the facelift planned for the sedan, designers have opted for a sober appearance with smaller headlights, a new front bumper with rectangular chrome enclosures, and a new grille which eases on the usage of chrome.

At least in the video, there are no changes to the rear of the car except a thicker chrome highlight for the registration plate enclosure.

Toyota could announce the Corolla facelift, or the Corolla Hybrid in any of the forthcoming Asian motor shows this year.
