Update - A third image of the purported Toyota Corolla facelift has come up on mobile01 in which the front three quarter of the car is in full view. Changes, apart from what has already been reported, is the new alloy wheel pattern and black side skirt. Could Toyota show the updated model at Auto Shanghai next month?

Toyota have only changed the plastic parts of the car, and have also given it new alloy wheels.

Features a redesigned front end and clear lens taillamps.

Last year, a source had told IAB that a facelift of the Corolla Altis was already finalized before the current generation was launched and that this move, and its timely deployment, will quell the notion that Toyota aren't quick with product updates.

The front-end is in line with the Auris and Avensis, which were displayed at the Geneva Motor Show with a facelift.

Keeping this in mind, a set of spyshots of a new Toyota Corolla has surfaced, depicting a redesigned front end that puts it in line with other latest models, such as the not-for-India Avensis and Auris.

At the Geneva Motor Show, Toyota's demo video to overview its safety systems showed a Corolla with different bumpers and design, which prompted many publications to report that it could be the facelift. The car in these spyshots differs in many respects.

The notable difference up front is the less usage of chrome over the current car. The chrome slats of the current model are black, leaving the chrome element that houses the logo extend till the end of the headlamps. It features dual grilles integrated within the black trapezoidal area, and LED DRLs on either side of the lower fascia.

The rear appears to be more dynamic than before; characterized by a fixed spoiler, clear lens tail-lamps and a deeper rear bumper.

The 'X' badge maybe a new variant, but the stark difference in the appearance compared to the current car hints that this is the new variant of the facelift.

The interior design could remain identical but changes might include better materials and more equipment as standard. It could also feature Toyota's Safety Sense collision avoidance pack and other active safety technologies, depending on where it is sold.

Toyota could announce the Corolla facelift, or even the all new Corolla Hybrid in any of the forthcoming Asian motor shows this year.
