Update - Novidades Automotivas has reported that the Renault Duster facelift will launch in Brazil on March 31. Apart from the visual changes listed below, the freshened Duster also gets new instrument panel, 'Duster' printed on the roof rails, and extra standard equipment to stay competitive.

The Renault Duster facelift for the Brazilian market was spotted up close by a reader of CarPlace recently. As reported earlier, the Duster facelift for this South American market differs from the international version which was revealed in late-2013.

The Duster facelift for Brazil could get the option of an AMT system.

The front bumper gets a larger skid plate for a more rugged appearance, though other details such as the redesigned headlights and the new twin-slat grille are identical to the international model. However, it remains to be seen if the Duster facelift for Brazil gets the integrated LED daytime running lights like the international model.

At the rear, the taillights on this car have a new design to them, making it clear that Renault has made a few market-specific changes to the Duster.

There are no further changes observed on the outside, though media reports indicate that there could be certain interior changes, the most significant of which is the addition of automatic climate control (unavailable on the Duster in any of its markets).

The addition of an automatic climate control system would help the Duster match rivals like the Ford EcoSport and Honda HR-V which get these features.

One report states that the facelifted Duster for Brazil would also get the option of an automated manual transmission with the 1.6-liter gasoline engine. The Brazilian Duster also comes with a 2.0-liter petrol engine, that can be had optionally with 4WD.

Renault India recently launched a model year update for the Duster adding several features such as an armrest and an ECO button for efficient driving. The Duster facelift for the Indian market should come out by the end of this year or early next year.
