Reported to make its debut in mid-2015.
The 2015 Mahindra Thar has been spotted testing in Lonavala ahead of its rumored mid-2015 launch. This time, the pre-production model is finished in red and sports less cammo wrapping.
The Mahindra Thar facelift will feature a new front reportedly made from a mix of plastic and metal, bigger side-steps for easier entry, and fender extensions for the top-spec CRDe variant. The most noticeable change is the rear canopy, which is now tilted from the back.
The interior features a complete overhaul over the outgoing model. It comes with a new dual tone dashboard housing circular HVAC vents with silver accents, and a new instrument cluster. It borrows the steering wheel, HVAC controls and the handbrake lever from the Bolero, and has a beige gear lever housing with two cup holders.

No mechanical upgrades have been reported as of now. The current Thar is available with a 2.5-litre DI unit that produces 63 hp and 182.5 Nm of torque, and a more-powerful 2.5-litre CRDe engine that makes 105 hp and 247 Nm of torque. The only transmission offered is a 5-speed manual gearbox, and will come in 2WD (rear wheel drive) and 4WD flavors.
