India-made Suzuki Alto (Maruti A-Star) Celebration edition launched - Netherlands

Suzuki has launched a special edition of the Alto (manufactured in India, and which was sold as the A-Star) in Netherlands. Priced at 8,999 Euros (INR 6.36 lakhs), which is after the 800 Euro stock benefit, the special edition marks the celebration of 35 years of existence of the Alto in the Dutch market.

The Suzuki Alto is powered by a 1-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 68 hp and 90 Nm of torque.

The Suzuki Alto Celebration is powered by a 1-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 68 hp at 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,400 rpm. A 5-speed manual is standard but the car can be specced with a 4-speed automatic too.

It comes with safety features like ABS, EBD and Brake Assist. ESP and front, side, and curtain airbags are standard on the version. The feature list includes a radio, CD, and MP3 player, remote-controlled central locking, power windows, air-conditioning, and 14-inch alloys.

The Alto's/A-Star's successor, the Celerio, is already on sale in markets like India, Thailand and even the U.K. For European markets, the Celerio is exported from Suzuki's Thai plant.
