Likely to be powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with DCT.

Hyundai will be unveiling the next generation ix35 tomorrow (February 17, 2015) at 16:00 CET. Ahead of the reveal, the car maker has released a teaser image of the new SUV. Only for this generation, Hyundai has announced that it will ditch the 'ix35' name to revive the 'Tucson' nameplate.

The new Tucson will have its public premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Back in 2010, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) replaced the older Tucson with the Santa Fe SUV, and continues to sell the Santa Fe in its new generation now. It is highly unlikely for the new Tucson to be sold in India immediately, though in the distant future, when the market evolves, the company may consider the product, a source told Indian Autos Blog.

The new 2016 Tucson will have its European premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Powertrain and specification details remain unannounced but reports point out that the new Tucson will be powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel engines matched to a DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
