Not-for-India SUV to debut this week in Chicago.

Honda announced that the new generation 2016 Pilot SUV will be revealed on February 12, at the Chicago Auto Show. The Japanese company released a teaser, showing the side of the new Pilot, but these spyshots from the HondasAcuras give a glimpse to the interior and underbody of the car.

The new Pilot could benefit from the Honda Connect System.

Seen inside is a large touchscreen display which could feature the new Honda Connect System. The touchscreen unit is flanked by vertical AC vents with thick metallic/silver highlights. Resting below the infotainment system seems to be the display for the automatic climate control. A starter button for the engine is also seen in this image.

The underbody image shows the single exhaust tip (concealed within the bumper) and the spare wheel, which is positioned below the car to extract more interior space for rear seat passengers.

The Pilot will not be sold in the Indian market, where Honda’s premium SUV offering is only the CR-V. For emerging markets like India, Honda is reportedly working on a compact SUV based on the Honda Brio’s platform.

Is VCM going to be a carryover? Nothing but lawsuits, lemon-law claims, Warranty issues, and complaints about misfires, rough idling and the like on the Pilot Forums. Class action lawsuits too.

big deal…. the thing they needed to fix – their horrible VCM (Vairable Cylinder Management) engine setup – which has gotten nothing but terrible reviews, lawsuits, complaints, etc is reported to be carried over…. GET RID of VCM….. NOBODY WANTS IT !!!!!! Misfires, vibrations, etc….

Looking forward to the reveal. The silhouette looks like the MDX. A common complaint about the new Highlander is that the screen gets washed out in sunlight. The way the Pilot’s is positioned looks like it might have the same trouble. 🙁
