The Bolt, Punto and the Sail make use of the Fiat-developed 1.3-liter engine. On the Punto, this engine is offered in two states of tunes as well. Power outputs of all three cars are comparable at 75-76 PS. The Micra and the Liva, despite featuring a larger displacement engine, sport the least amount of power and torque.

However, when it comes to power-weight ratio, the Bolt is surpassed by the Punto Sport, Liva and Sail. All cars come with a 5-speed manual transmission with the Toyota achieving the best fuel efficiency claim of 23.59 km/l. The Bolt follows third in the list while the Punto comes last.

At INR 5.5 lakhs for the base variant, the Bolt is INR 8,000 more than the base Punto, but still INR 24,000 cheaper than the Micra. The Liva is the only car in this category to get dual airbags as standard.

The Bolt is the only car in this class to get a turbocharged engine. All cars come with a 1.2-liter unit, but the Punto can also be had with a 1.4-liter motor. The Bolt and the Punto 1.4 are indeed the most powerful cars here on paper.

Despite producing fewer horsepower, the Micra and Liva put better power-weight figures thanks to their lighter weight. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across the range, Nissan also sells the Micra with a CVT.

The Bolt is the second least fuel efficient car of the lot at 17.57 km/l, while the Micra CVT and Micra manual claim numbers of 19.34 km/l and 18.44 km/l respectively.

At INR 4.45 lakhs, the Bolt is the most affordable car here, a full INR 20,000 cheaper than the Sail hatch.
