Tata Bolt gets 1,500 bookings, 10k test drive requests, 50k enquiries - Report

Bookings started a month before the launch.

Tata started accepting bookings for the Bolt hatchback a month prior to its launch. Till the launch, the company has received 1,500 bookings, 10,000 test drive requests and 50,000 enquiries, according to a report from the Economic Times.

The hatchback is priced from INR 4.45 lakhs to INR 6.06 lakhs for the petrol variant and between INR 5.5 lakhs to INR 6.99 lakhs for the diesel variants. Four variants are offered with each engine namely XE, XM, XMS and XT.

The Tata Bolt petrol gets a Multi-Drive feature which allows the drive to alter the throttle map of the car between City, Eco and Sport modes. It shares its 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with the Zest, making an identical 90 PS (88.73 bhp) and 140 Nm of torque.

Tata is offering the Bolt diesel only in the 75 PS tune of the 1.3-liter MultiJet engine. It makes 190 Nm of torque and comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. An automated manual transmission (AMT) is not available as of now, but could be introduced later on.

Compared to the Zest, the Bolt gets additional features like GPS mirroring and video playback.
