Could be used for an upcoming model based on the Tivoli platform.

Ssangyong is reported to have registered two names with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, one being 'Tivoli' and the other 'Luvent'. The former is, as you must know, the recently announced (and revealed) compact crossover from the Korean car maker. The latter could be a new product based on the Tivoli platform, mentions Consumer Reports.

Ssangyong had confirmed last year that a seven-seat version of the Tivoli is lined up for a late-2015 launch.

Engine options for the Ssangyong Tivoli will include 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units.

Bound to make a public appearance in Korea this month, Tivoli is the brand's smallest (and the newest) vehicle in the line up. It was revealed online last month, and draws inspiration from the XIV Air and XIV Adventure concepts from the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The B segment SUV is powered by a range of 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines, which were reportedly developed in conjunction with parent company Mahindra.

The feature list for the Tivoli includes a climate control system, a touchscreen infotainment unit, a multifunction steering wheel, and a total of seven airbags. The interior sports a dual-tone colour combination (could be optional), while the luggage capacity stands at 423 litres.

Mahindra tried reaching stateside with a pick-up version of Scorpio (known as Getaway in India), but the series of events that followed were not in the brand's favour. As the report suggests, this could be another chance for the Indian automotive manufacturer to enter the American market.
