The top-end Jazz is expected to carry over its features from the new City.

Upon launch, which is expected to take place in the next couple of months, the new Jazz will be available with a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, both paired to a manual gearbox as standard. An automatic could be offered on the petrol variant.

The Jazz, based on the new Honda City's platform, will likely be manufactured at Honda Cars India's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, where the sedan is also made. Reports indicate that Honda is targeting a localization content of above 90 percent for the hatchback, suggesting that prices will be indeed be competitive. The first time the Jazz was launched in India back in 2009, it's premium pricing and lack of a diesel model put off buyers which led to a slow demise for the hatchback.
