New compact SUV coming this year.
The next generation version of the Mahindra Bolero was caught undergoing real world testing in Koyembedu, Chennai.
In terms of design, the new set of photos, much like the previous shots show a stubby back, a Mahindra XUV500-aping grille, an external spare wheel, and a boxy shape.
In terms of engines, the vehicle is expected to use new 1.5-litre or 1.6-litre powerplants, while it’s still going to be based on a body-on-frame setup. The chassis, like the new Scorpio, will be hydroformed, so the new Bolero is expected to have better road manners than before, according to reports.
Mahindra is planning to launch two new compact SUVs, and the U301-based SUV will be one while the other will be the smaller vehicle, codenamed S101. The latter will have crossover styling and will feature a monocoque structure, as reported earlier.
Competitors: Tata Movus, Chevrolet Tavera
Expected Price: INR 6-8 lakhs, ex-Showroom
