Likely to appeal to the women audience.
Honda has showcased a special edition on its Honda Vezel compact SUV (known in other markets as the Honda HR-V) at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon. Called the Samantha Thavasa edition, the car sports a catchy exterior.
Needless to say, this edition of the Vezel is bound to appeal to the Japanese female buyers, not only because of its feminine look, but also as Samantha Thavasa is a leading Japanese fashion company known for its handbags.
In the Japanese market, the Vezel is offered with a 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain producing 132 PS. The hybrid is paired to Honda’s i-DCD (intelligent dual-clutch drive) 7-speed transmission and can be had with front wheel drive or all wheel drive.
For the Indian market, the Vezel was ruled out as it would be difficult to price it competitively along the lines of the Renault Duster or Mahindra Scorpio. Instead of the Vezel, Honda is reportedly considering a compact SUV based on the Brio’s platform. Expect to hear more about this SUV next year.
