The smartphone app gets mirrored on the car's screen.

Tata Motors has forged alliance with MapMyIndia for the use of GPS navigation technology in its new car, the Tata Bolt. The GPS navigation technology allows the navigation application in the user’s smart phone to sync with the car head unit.

The users get a MapMyIndia Navigation app that has been specially coded for integration between the phone and in-dash screen. With a customized in-car kit, users will now have access to the comprehensive maps in the country, enabling them to search and navigate to millions of points of interest/destinations across India, anytime, anywhere.

Bolt owners will now be able to use maps that are localized with voice guidance, besides getting exhaustive coverage with 10.54 million unique destinations (Points of Interests), expanded coverage of over two million kilometers of road network, 7,068 cities at street level with house address level data for 80 cities, six lakh villages and 3D and 2D landmarks in 86 cities. MapMyIndia’s maps are used by many car makers in India like JLR, Mahindra, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Mitsubishi and Hyundai.
