Expected to launch in China next year.

Showcased at the Guangzhou Motor Show in concept form, the Kia KX3 is a China-bound compact SUV based on the Hyundai ix25. And while its production plans weren't announced at the show, the consecutive appearances (including this one) in production form have been indicating the probability of a market launch in China next year.

The production version of the Kia KX3 is slightly longer and wider than the concept, according to the report.

According to a report by Autohome, the production-spec KX3 retains its wheelbase of 2,590 mm (identical to the ix25) but now measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,630 mm in height, which is a slight increase from the concept version. Powering the vehicle will be a set of 1.6-litre petrol engines, both in naturally aspirated and forced induction (turbocharged) forms.

The production version (that you see here) is slightly different from the concept vehicle. Foglamps are now vertically set, headlamps and taillamps feature a new design, the alloy wheel design has changed, and there's the new bumper-mounted reflectors (rear) and a new skid plate.

It was earlier speculated to be launched in mid-2015, but it won't be surprising to see it launch early next year in China. The KX3 will compete against the Honda Vezel, Honda XR-V, Ford EcoSport, and Hyundai ix25.
