Mexico - India-made Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan launched at INR 6.09 lakhs

The Hyundai Xcent sub-4 metre sedan which is made exclusively in India has been launched in Mexico. The car goes by the name Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan.

The Grand i10 Sedan is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine.

The car bound to the North American market is available only with the 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, churning out 83 PS (81.83 bhp) and 113.68 Nm of torque. The 4-speed automatic transmission is expected to be offered in the future.

The compact sedan is available in three variants namely GL, GL Mid and GLS. The entry-level variant is equipped with power steering, AC, music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and adjustable steering. The mid variant offers dual front airbags, ABS, central locking, and body colored ORVMs and door handles.

The range-topping model comes with power windows, alloy wheels, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, foglights and several other features.

Only the 5-speed manual gearbox is available in Mexico as of now.

The Grand i10 Sedan has a starting price of 134,000 pesos (around INR 6.09 lakhs) and is made at Hyundai's Chennai plant.

In addition to the petrol variant, the India-spec sedan is powered by a 1.1-litre three-cylinder diesel engine which is capable of 72 PS (70.98 bhp) and 184 Nm of torque.
