Will be replaced by new model shortly.
An accessorized version of the Ford Ranger WildTrak has been showcased at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2014. The pickup truck is purely a cosmetic exercise of the soon-to-be-replaced model.
Based on the current 3.2-litre WildTrak Double Cab variant, the special edition show car comes with a sportier black grille and bumper with silver inserts, new alloy wheels, decals behind the wheel arches mimicking dirt, and side armour.
The glossy black treatment has been give to the ORVM housings, roll hoop, rear bumper and fender gills. The special edition pickup is accessorized with a bicycle carrier and a tow hitch.
Power comes from a 3.2-litre inline five-cylinder turbo diesel engine which is capable of 200 PS (197.18 bhp) at 3,000 rpm and a peak torque of 470 Nm at 1,750-2,500 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission distributes power to all the four wheels.
The Ranger pickup will be replaced by a facelifted model in 2015. To be closely related to the recently unveiled 2015 Ford Endeavour (Ford Everest), the next gen Ranger will adopt the SUV's design up till the B-Pillar. The interior would also be shared albeit the cargo version would have cheaper trims.
