Precursor to a rugged Colorado variant.

Designed as the preview to a future off-road cousin of the Colorado, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept made its debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Visually the car gets a rugged front fascia with a heavily designed grille, aluminum tow hooks and an in-built winch. More expression comes via the power dome on the hood, extra fender flares, 18-inch bead lock-style aluminum wheels wrapped with 275/65R18 off-road tires, and green body paint with orange accents.

To traverse tough terrain, the truck gets greater approach and departure angles, front control arms, mono-tube coil-over shock absorbers that give better suspension travel, and electronic-locking differentials at the front and rear. Skid plates and a two-inch lift wind up the exterior novelties.

The interior is outfitted with black seats with orange contrast stitching and "ZR2" stamped on the headrests. The instrument cluster gets an inclinometer and ZR2 branding.

The truck is powered by a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine that generates about 181 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
