Gets a multi-link independent rear suspension.

The 2015 VW Sagitar facelift (Jetta in international markets) has been unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2014. The sedan receives minor improvements for the 2015 model year.

Built by FAW-Volkswagen JV exclusively for the Chinese market, the Sagitar facelift features a revised grille with three horizontal chrome slats, tweaked headlamp clusters with L-shaped LED daytime running lights and a reprofiled bumper with a chrome strip and new foglights.

There are no changes to the side save for a new wheel design while the rear receives subtle tweaks to the combination lights and bumper. The interior continues largely unchanged.

Under the skin, the new Sagitar benefits from a sophisticated multi-link independent rear suspension setup. The rest of the hardware continues untouched.

The sedan is available with 1.6-litre, 1.4-litre TSI and 1.8-litre TSI petrol motors. The normally aspirated engine is capable of 103.2 bhp and 155 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed tiptronic automatic transmission. The 1.4-litre TSI mill outputs 128.7 bhp and 220 Nm of torque which is available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG.

The range topping 1.8-litre TSI engine generates 158.2 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, and is available only with the 7-speed DSG.
