Ford has released the first teaser image of the next generation Endeavour (Everest) SUV, ahead of an unveiling that will take place on November 14 in China.

The new Everest/Endeavour looks identical to the concept shown nearly a year ago.

The teaser image shows the headlight and grille of the SUV, which looks identical to the concept Everest that was revealed in Sydney last year and subsequently at the Bangkok Motor Show this year. Then again, it needs to be mentioned that the concept seemed largely production ready itself.

Power for the Endeavour in international markets is reported to come from a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel engine. For the Indian market though, Ford could choose to continue with the existing 2.5-liter and 3.0-liter diesel engines. Where the Endeavour currently uses 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions in India, the new model would get 6-speed units for improved economy and cruising ability.

The SUV will get a coil-spring rear suspension.

Based on the new Ranger's ladder-frame chassis, the Endeavour will ditch its leaf spring setup for the rear in favor of a more modern coil-spring unit. That, and a cabin inspired by the Ford F-150 pickup truck are two major changes company sources have told media publications lately.
