IAB Report - Hero Motocorp inaugurates Rajasthan plant

As a part of its ongoing global and domestic expansion spree, Hero Motocorp has inaugurated its fourth manufacturing facility in India, located at Neemrana in Rajasthan.

The latest plant has attracted an investment of INR 550 crores and is spread over an area of 47 acres, situated adjacent to Hero's new Global Parts Center. The infrastructure is claimed to generate direct employment of over 1,000 persons.

Equipped to produce Hero's entire lineup of products, the Neemrana facility has an annual production capacity of 7.5 lakh units. Initially, the 100 cc commuters will be made here and higher capacity models will enter production at a later stage.

The green facility has rich flora in addition to solar power and rain water harvesting. The photovoltaic cells are claimed to generate an estimated 1.5 mega watt of energy.

As the fourth domestic facility goes on stream, Hero has announced its INR 5,000 crore capacity expansion plan which includes the Neemrana plant and upcoming facilities in Bangladesh, Colombia, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

The massive investment is a part of Hero's ambitious plan to achieve a turnover of INR 60,000 crore by expanding its global presence with manufacturing units in 20 countries.
