IAB Report - Force Motors opens bookings for Gurkha, deliveries to start soon

The Gurkha is powered by a BS-3 diesel engine.

The new Force Gurkha was 'launched' in February 2013 at the Bus and Utility Vehicle Show in Noida. However, sales of the SUV did not start last year, or even this year for that matter. Now though, it seems that the Gurkha will see deliveries soon as dealers of Force Motors have started accepting bookings for the car.

The Gurkha is priced as follows -

Force Gurkha Prices, ex-showroom, New Delhi:

  1. Soft top 4×2 – Rs. 6.25 lakhs (OTR - INR 7.33 lakhs)
  2. Soft top 4X4 – Rs. 8.34 lakhs (OTR - INR 9.76 lakhs)
  3. Hard top 4X4 – Rs. 8.50 lakhs (OTR - INR 9.93 lakhs)

The Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-liter four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine that produces 80.4 hp at 3,200 rpm and 230 Nm of torque between 1,800-2,000 rpm paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine is available only in the BS-3 spec for now.

Features on the Gurkha extend to front and rear differential locks, power steering, alloy wheels and a stainless steel air intake snorkel. The SUV measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, 2,055 mm in height and 2,400 mm in wheelbase. The ground clearance measures 210 mm and the fuel tank has a capacity of 63 liters.
