The new Mini launches in India early next year. It will replace the current 3-door Mini Cooper. Made at the Oxford plant in the U.K., it is expected to arrive in India as a CBU (Completely Built up Unit).

The new Mini breaks the norm for BMW Group, as it is the first model to use the front wheel drive UKL architecture. It is larger than the model it replaces at 3,821 mm in length, 1,727 mm in width and 1,415 mm in height.

In Europe, the Mini is offered with 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The Cooper S and SD are powered by 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines respectively. BMW also offers the Mini One with 1.2-liter three-cylinder engines that get higher fuel efficiency, but the One is unlikely to launch in India as it would not fit into the premium framework of the brand.
