Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (PVPL) has announced that it will showcase the India-only Vespa Elegante limited edition tomorrow. The launch of the automatic scooter is expected at a later stage, most probably before Diwali.

The Elegante is an accessorized VX with exclusive elements such as a split seat finished in beige, Crete Senesi Brown color option (first introduced in the Vespa Primavera), a chrome grab rail, a possible apron-mounted foldable carrier and Elegante special edition badges. The rest of the scooter would remain same as the VX.

The Vespa Elegante would look pretty much similar to a Primavera (Image) but with a split seat and regular wheels.

Power comes from a 125 cc 3-valve 4-stroke engine coupled to a CVT. The motor develops 10 PS (9.85 bhp) and 10.06 Nm of torque. Suspension duty is taken care by a trailing arm setup upfront and a single sided coil spring at the rear. Just like the Vespa VX, the Elegante will be offered with front disc brake and rear drum brake.

In pricing, the Elegante will command a premium over the Vespa VX which itself is a premium scooter to start with. The scooter will be produced in limited numbers.
