The Datsun Go hatchback will go on sale shortly with a sub-NPR 20 lakhs (around INR 12.53 lakhs) price tag.

The Datsun Go just made its Nepalese debut at the 2014 Nepal Auto Show (NADA) before going on sale in the coming weeks. Talking to eKantipur, Mr. Atul Sahane, GM for exports, Nissan India, has said that the Go+ mini MPV would be launched in Nepal next year.

The Dasun Go+ is nothing but a stretched version of the Go hatchback.

Based on the Nissan Micra's platform, the Go+ is basically a stretched Go hatchback with an additional row of seats. The 7-seat MPV is announced to enter India later this year and just like the Go, it will be shipped as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from India to Nepal.

The budget MPV will be powered by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that was borrowed from the Micra. The motor is tuned to generate 68 PS and 104 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Go+ can accommodate seven passengers.

The Datsun Go+ measures 3,995 mm in length in a bid to take advantage of the Indian sub-4 metre excise benefits, so expect the space for luggage to be in short supply.

The Go+ would create a new segment when it goes on sale in India and Nepal. Given that the Go hatchback will have a price tag of less than NPR 2 million (INR 12.43 lakhs), the Go+ would be priced close to the premium hatchbacks like the Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20.
