Porsche had ordered customers, including TopGear presenter Richard Hammond, to stop driving it briefly for an engine fire risk.

The 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 was spotted at one of the company's dealerships in North India this month. The new 911 GT3, as reported earlier, will have its market launch by the end of this year. Porsche India have already received 3 bookings for the new GT3, one company official tells IAB.

The GT3 can achieve a top-speed of 315 km/h.

Powering the GT3 is the 3.8-liter six-cylinder producing 475 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox, which enables the GT3 to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and 0-160 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The GT3 achieves a top-speed of 315 km/h.

The GT3's body is crafted from an aluminium and steel composite, and is in fact 44 mm wider than a 911 Carerra. The aggressively styled front bumper, the fixed rear wing and the GT3 badge at the back tell apart a GT3 from the regular 911. The GT3 is the first production Porsche model to benefit from the active rear-wheel steering system.
