The Bolt will launch after the Zest compact sedan, which launches tomorrow.

Based on the Vista, the Bolt gets a redesigned exterior and interior which is similar to that of the Zest. Like its compact sedan sibling, the Bolt too was announced at the Auto Expo earlier this year with two engine options, a petrol and a diesel.

The petrol engine is Tata's 1.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged Revotron making 85 PS (83.8 bhp) and 140 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel Bolt makes use of the Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter Multijet engine to produce 75 PS (73.94 bhp) and 190 Nm of torque and uses a 5-speed manual gearbox too. An automated manual transmission (AMT) could be offered on the Bolt diesel much like the Zest diesel.
