Spied - IAB reader snaps the refreshed Mahindra Scorpio ahead of its October launch

Revamped exterior and interior to freshen up the SUV in the wake of competition.

Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Rishabh, spotted the refreshed Mahindra Scorpio on test near the company's facility in Nashik recently. As mentioned earlier, Mahindra is reportedly considering an October launch for the Scorpio facelift.

The facelift will bring about a new front fascia for the Scorpio which will see the inclusions of redesigned headlights with projector elements, a new grille and a new bumper. New alloy wheel patterns and LED taillights should complete the visual changes on the SUV.

Inside, Mahindra have redone the design of the dashboard also giving the Scorpio the XUV500's steering wheel and a new instrument cluster. Mechanical changes, sources tell Indian Autos Blog, will come in the form of a better suspension system and improved NVH levels. The 2.2-liter diesel engine will continue unchanged.

Though the Scorpio has gotten long in the tooth, it continues to rake in good volumes for the company. For the first 7 months of this year, Mahindra sold 29,907 units of the SUV at an average monthly rate of 4,272 units.

Expected Price: INR 8.5-13 lakhs, ex-showroom
