Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Abhishek Joshi, spotted the upcoming Fiat Avventura near the company's manufacturing plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra, recently.

The Avventura was unveiled earlier this year at the Delhi Motor Show, and is announced to go on sale in India during the festive season months (during September). The Avventura's launch is expected to take place soon after that of the Punto Evo's (which launches on August 5).

Spied side of Fiat Avventura
The Fiat Avventura will launch after the Punto Evo.

Based on the Punto Evo, the Avventura gets projector headlights, roof rails, an exposed spare wheel, new alloy wheels, skid guards and plastic body cladding. Inside, Fiat has given the Avventura contrast stitching and roll-and-tilt gauges to differentiate it from the Punto.

Mechanically, the Avventura is expected to come powered by the same set of engines used on the Punto. The lineup will include 1.2- and 1.4-liter petrol motors and a 1.3-liter diesel engine available in two states of tune. The engines would be paired to 5-speed manual transmissions, all though the Auto Expo show car came with a 6-speed manual. The Avventura would be driven by its front wheels.

In a buildup to its launch, Fiat India has started teasing the car recently.
