IAB Report - 2015 Indian Scout goes on sale in India at INR 11.99 lakhs

The heritage rich Indian Scout which starred in the biographical film, "The World's Fastest Indian", has received its successor in the form of the 2015 Indian Scout. The latest iteration of the iconic motorcycle has been launched in India at INR 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi).

Bookings for the new India Scout are open at its lone dealership in Gurgaon, Haryana. The Scout becomes the fourth model from the American marque to be sold in India and is also the most affordable of the lot.

The styling of the 2015 Indian Scout is both modern and retro. Subscribing to the traditional cruiser design norms, the Scout's noteworthy features include chrome finished cylinder heads and crankcase, twin chrome exhaust pipes, contrasting saddle and minimal body panels.

The new Indian Scout is powered by a 1,131 cc 100 hp engine.

Power comes from 1,131 cc V-Twin engine delivering 100 hp and 97.7 Nm of torque. The power is harnessed by a 6-speed transmission.

In terms of dimensions, the new Scout measures 2,311 mm in length, 880 mm in width and 1,207 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 1,562 mm and the cruiser has a dry weight of 253 kg.

Telescopic forks and dual shocks do the suspension duty at the front and rear respectively. Stopping power is courtesy of 298 mm discs at both ends (front disc gets double piston calipers while the rear one makes do with a single caliper).

The 2015 Indian Scout is available in four color options - Red, Thunder Black, Thunder Black Smoke and Silver Smoke.
