Report - Tata Zest to get 6 year warranty

Tata Motors will be offering a 6 year warranty on the upcoming Tata Zest compact sedan, the Financial Express reports. The standard warranty will cover the first three years of the car, and an extended warranty will cover the next three years. The six year warranty, according to the report, will be included in the price of the car.

Additionally, a three-year annual maintenance coverage will also be offered to customers. Also included is 24x7 free roadside assistance.

The Zest will go on sale next month, though pre-bookings have already started on Tata's website. The pre-booking amount is INR 21,000.

To recap, the Zest will be offered with a four-cylinder 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced Multijet diesel engine. The diesel will be hooked to a 5-speed manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT). The diesel engine produces 90 PS (88.73 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol makes an identical 90 PS (88.73 bhp), but 140 Nm of torque, and comes with a manual gearbox only.
